Native American Communities
Native American and Indigenous communities across the United States face healthcare challenges that are unique to their circumstances, culture and histories.
Tribal governments and healthcare organizations have limited resources to address these challenges, and often experience difficult, and sometimes, deadly consequences of lack of access to essential healthcare supplies.

The development of the SMRT1 Health CARE System began with the opioid crisis, but the technology can now address a wide variety of healthcare challenges, including infectious diseases, chronic conditions, and other health issues that disproportionately affect Native American communities.
The CARE System provides 24/7 access to healthcare supplies and information, reducing barriers to care and helping to address health disparities in Native American communities.
SMRT1 Health Partnership with Native American Nations
SMRT1 Health has established partnerships with several Native American Nations across the United States. These partnerships are built on a foundation of mutual respect, cultural sensitivity, and a shared commitment to improving healthcare access and outcomes for Native American communities.

Addressing the Opioid Crisis
The opioid crisis has had a devastating impact on Native American communities. According to the CDC, American Indians and Alaska Natives have the highest rates of opioid overdose deaths of any racial or ethnic group in the United States.

The SMRT1 Health CARE System provides a discreet, accessible way for community members to obtain overdose reversal medications like Narcan/Naloxone. The system also provides educational information about opioid use disorder and connects users with treatment and support resources.
Cultural Sensitivity
Each CARE System is customized to reflect the culture and traditions of the community it serves. From the languages displayed on screen to the products offered, every aspect of the system is designed with input from tribal leaders and community members.
This culturally sensitive approach helps to build trust and encourages community members to use the system, ultimately improving health outcomes.
